ignition wiring harness on 65 with 327

I am in the process of restoring a 65 small block, that at one point was modified to be more like a 67 clone, back to original condition. I just changed out the wiring harness and the car no longer starts. Can anyone recommend a source for a step by step debug of harness problems?

Doesn't crank over? No fire at the coil? What?

      Tim,

If you bought the harnesss from Lectric Limited they are supposed to offer free technical support. I would like to know if they are any good.

I would start with checking your grounds

It does not crank, Heater blower fires up and horn works, but trying to turn it over just is a deafening silence

          Tim,

Get under the car with a test light, have someone turn the ignition key to the crank position and see if there is power on the S terminal at the starter solenoid. Make sure the car is in neutral with emergency brake on and wheels chocked. If you have power at this terminal there is a problem at the solenoid, if no power then it's from the wire back to the ignition switch and you will have to start process of elimination.

I too had a problem w/my 65 harness that I purchased new from LL. The pins were screwed up when I got it & didn't realize this. I further destroyed them by forcing onto the fuse block. Ended up costing me 104.00 to buy a kit from LL w/all new pins & block. Make sure all the pins on the firewall mate up correctly and don't force it unless you want to screw around & pay also!
