TQ - 1963 Spare Tire Bolts

    ALL,

1963 JG states three types have been observed, but then no discussion of what they should look like - told that mine are not correct......so, how do I know what ones are correct? AIM gives number of 3841463

does anyone have a picture of an original spare tire bolt?

understand they are 9 3/8" long????

    Hey Rick,

Too bad Michael Hanson is not still on this board. You know he is one of the most knowledgeable people on the planet when it comes to 1963. Only one other that qualifies (Marty Fowler) and he doesn't post.

Then again you can consult the 1963-64 Judging Guide and get your answers.

Oops, wrong answer! That won't work either! Well, shut my mouth (or I'll get kicked off the technical discussion board).

Check out Vetteheads and I'll answer your question.

    Regards,

      Rick -

See page 106-109 in Noland's book - has photos and drawings of all three hanger bolts used in 1963.

        JR and John,

thanks - it appears I have the "square-headed" bolts that were used from 1964 forward? 1963 was a 1-year only, again!?

Rick, can you post a picture of what you have?

I have an old rusty one in PB at the moment. As aoon as I get it apart I shoot a picture.
