    '66 e-brake warning light socket

I got a 12" pair of curved, hemostats to try to remove the socket from the dash and change the bulb. The socket is plastic, like the "lights" warning light. Before I start pulling on it, does anyone know for sure if it pulls out, like the other metal bulb sockets? I don't want to break it, if it needs to be turned to be removed instead. Thanks....

It pulls straight out-don't twist it.

      Ken,

I got the socket out...that's a strange looking, large round bulb. Murphy's law....the glass bulb separated from the metal. Where exactly do I find a bulb like this?

        Ken,

Assuming there's a metal backing that I need to fish out of the socket...I assume I should disconnect the battery??

The bulb is a # 257, it has a built in flasher element. Most corvette vendors sell them. I got some at a local light bulb store.
ALWAYS disconnect the battery when working with anything electrical and especially under the dash!

            Ken,

I found a T57 at my local auto store, they didn't have a 257. Will this bulb not flash, as original?

I have never heard of that bulb. If you can't find one email me privately I will send you some.

Is #257 also used for the headlight warning? *NM*
