    C1 Wiper switch question

I am installing my windshield wiper system on my 56 from scratch. The wiper motor is on the firewall with transmissions installed and cables operating. So far so good. My wiper motor was sold to me with the plastic switch system which I was told was incorrect for my year which I accepted. The plastic switch requires pushing to turn the motor on. My bowden cable has a small washer installed to fit into the metal tab mounted on the plastic switch piece. The question is how does the bowden cable "push" the plastic piece to start the motor? Am I missing something? I can see how it would pull the switch but not how it would push it.
Thanks for your comments. I see nothing in ST-12 or the articles in the driveline disc to address this.

    Re: C1 Wiper switch question

Well it's made to PUSH and pull to stop the motor , if it was adjusted to reach that plastic slider you may not have the leanth left to push it. Better to get the correct motor, if a Corvette motor cost big $$$ find a 55 truck FIRST design motor and use the backing plate you have on the wrong motor to change the truck motor to Corvette. The truck motor is the same as the 55 to 56 Corvette but for the back plate .
Looking under Chevy 55 truck they are cheaper the looking under that word "Corvette."

After looking at the Corvette Central catalog I think the tip of my bowden cable is supposed to have something other than the one small washer. Cay you or anyone else comment on this?

          Allen,
If you have a '57 wiper with the white plastic slide on top I think you need to purchase a cable for a '57. I think the cable is different for the '56 with the metal slide that Roy posted a picture of.
