Re: F41 C3 1971
Didn't see an option for it in the 71 registry. For 70 it lists the HD suspension with the ZR1 package.

Re: F41 C3 1971
Kelly,
This subject is of particular interest to me, as I am probably the biggest LS-6 fan out there.
The 1971 Dealer Sales Album does not mention or list the F41 heavy duty suspension anywhere in the Corvette section or even the revised pages that were printed in Jan '71 that pertain to Corvette as replacement pages for earlier printed information on the Corvette model.
I have a 1971 Preliminary Corvette Order (Rev. 4/70) this is the dealer ordering sheet for Corvette, nowhere does it list or make mention of the F41 option.
I also have a 1971 GM Employee Purchase Plan Corvette Order (Rev. 7/70) this dealer ordering sheet for Corvette also does not mention or list the F41 option anywhere as well.
I have many copies of 1971 Corvette Order Copys for '71 LS-6 Corvettes, the only ones that list the ECL code for F41 sport suspension are the Order Copys for the cars equiped with ZR2 option.
FYI I have F41 HD suspension on one of my LS-6's. It was added by the original owner. It was not listed on the Corvette Order Copy.- Top

Re: F41 C3 1971
On the F41 parts the spring and shocks are larger? What makes the parts unique in a F41 corvette over the standard big block corvette in 1971. What is unique about the shocks with the hats on them? Can anyone explain the F41 in detail on a corvette of that time period?- Top

Re: F41 C3 1971
Kelly,
The rear leaf spring is much stiffer, consisting of 7 leaves instead of the normal 9 leaf set up. The front coils are shorter, thicker and much stiffer.
The shocks use a larger mounting and the piston shaft is larger with stiffer rejounce.
Specifications are listed in different Corvette publications.- Top

I agree. I'll believe that 1971 Corvettes (other than ZR-1/ZR-2) were equipped with F-41 when I see the option on an incontrovertably original window sticker or tank sheet. Until then, as far as I'm concerned, none were built. In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top
