68 vin tag question

    68 vin tag question

    I am wondering what is the correct apperance for the vin tag on a 68. Is the tag ang rivits natural finish or painted. I am looking at a 68 and the interior was changed from dark orange to black and the vin tag is painted black

          Mine was painted Black, but my interior is also Black...

              My VIN tag is also black and my interior is black as well.
              All of the 68 VINS I have seen are black, but I obviously haven't seen them all.

                  The VIN tag on my 68 is black and my interior is black.

                  There is a picture of a 68 VIN tag on page 57 of M.F. Dobbins' book "Fact Book of the 1968-1972 Stingray", Fourth Edition. The tag in the picture appears to be black; but then, so does the interior.
