    69 Repro Emergency Brake Handle

While at the NCRS meet at Old Town last weekend, I saw a vendor selling a 69 type reproduction emergency brake handle. Would like the opinions of those who either saw or have used it.

If it was one of Jeff Salz pieces, they are nicely done.

      Warren:
Thanks for the kind words but the ones I do are all originals, not reproductions. I have definate opinions on the repros but will not share them on line since I don't think this would be ethical. I would be happy to share what I think (and know) off line only.

Re: 69 Repro Emergency Brake Handle

Jeff, ever heard of a problem with the park brake seal hanging up on the trans tunnel or shift plate? I have a April 68 3spd vert and I have replaced the handle assy. with a pretty good repro, seal also. But I cant use it because the handle hangs in the up position. I tried shortening the seal that made it worse. I got another seal and used a cut portion of the older one to make a strap or guide(for lack of a better description)that is secured diagonally on to the tunnel for the new strap to ride under. It doesn't appear to be catching on the shift plate. Was there a bracket there originally to guide the seal? I havent looked at it since but want to fix this before summer. Any other suggestions are welcome. Thanks. Dave

          Dave:
I am sorry that I do not have a solution to your problem. The seal is guided in a track (at least on '69 and up) and there is a possibility that something in front of the track on the main console where the brake console and the main console mate is interfering. I'm sorry that I can't be of any further assistance.
