What color was the 1965 steel KH wheel? Ive seen black and Ive seen silver. Thanks.

My guess is black only. I've never seen otherwise.

In 63 the wheels were painted body color with blackwall tires. In 64 the wheels were black regardless. I'll bet they continued this through 65 & 66.

What does your 65/66 Judging Guide say?

The steel '65 wheel was black.

The 1966 steel wheel was first dip-primed semi-gloss black and then the outside facing surface only was sprayed gloss black. Tim

Same was true for 65. Dip primed and then the outside painted black. Here's a pic of an original spare tire with the original paint.
