Hi everyone. As some may know I produce the tool used to remove the dent in the underside of the front crossmember. Recently it was brought to my attention that someone had problems with the press-plate fitment inside the crossmember. The tool was designed to fit loosely in the crossmember cavity of 1963 to 1982 corvette. If anyone that has used the tool has experienced similar difficulty, I would appreciate hearing from you. Best regards, Terry tfringo@aol.com

Re: Crossmember Dent Removal Tool.....
That is a relief to know. I put a lot of work into the tool but I think there are variations in front crossmembers that I might find difficult to account for with the tool as it is built. I have sold nearly 100 of these tools and twice I have received feedback (one very recently) that the tool was too tight to fit the crossmember. That individual cut a 1/4 inch off the leading edge and was able to make the tool fit properly. But, I honestly did not intend for people to have to make such adjustments. Regardless, it still worked for that individual. Thank you for the feedback. Best regards, Terry- Top

Re: Crossmember Dent Removal Tool.....
Terry - While my '67 was on the rack at Old Town for the advanced judging seminar, Bill Clupper and others spoke about your front crossmember dent removal tool and how easily dents are worked to disappear like they were never there. They sold me on it if the need arrises.

Re: Crossmember Dent Removal Tool.....
It is all good to hear. I just didn't know if I needed to get into panic mode??I hope more people respond. I will be contacting others directly to find out if there is a trend in the later C3's that make it fit differently. Thank you, Terry- Top

Re: Why is the dent there?
Eric,
It looks like it would be a great place to lift the car from but actually it is not intended as a lift point. I straddle the whole crossmember with a strong block of wood when lifting from that point. But, if you stick a floor jack or bottle jack in that center section, you will soon cave that center section in. Regards, Terry- Top

Re: Why is the dent there?
Terry, Thank you for the response, I have never thought to lift the car there. Looking at the dent on my 78 it makes sense now. Much like never lifting using the steering/rad support bracket on a solid axle. Hope your tool works.
