    69 Trim Tag Rivets

Saw a set of NOS type trim tag rivets for sell on Ebay. I think they were stainless with 4 small ears that expand out. I am curious if those are correct. Some how, I am thinking my car used pop rivets for this. Is there a certain rivet that is correct?

The early C3 trim tag is held on by more or less standard "pop" type rivets. The rivets with notches in the hear -- so called "rosette rivets" -- are for the VIN tag on early C3s. Take a look at your VIN tag and see if those rivets look like what you see on ebay.

      Terry,
The ones on Ebay do not look like the "rosset" type. As a matter of fact, I don't recall seeing them anywhere on a Corvette. Thanks for the trim tag pop rivet info.

The trim tag rivets used for 1968-82 Corvettes were a conventional, aluminum pop rivet with a 1/4" OD head diameter. You can purchase these in any hardware store and no one will know the difference from the originals.
