    C2 Side window and vent window butyl

    Anyone know a source to buy the rubber window butyl to set side window and vent window glass?

      Try Davies Corvette in Florida. Not sure what you mean by butyl. The orignial channel bedding material is a black tar-type tape. It comes in different thicknesses. Coat the tape with a light coat of motor oil, set the glass into the channel, and give it time to set up. Search Corvette Fever - there was a past article showing how.

          OK, found a source and sizes. The chevrolet parts book (section 10.685) shows the "fillers" as .032 and .047. Restoration Specialties (814-467-9842) sells glass setting tape in various thicknesses. For the window .032 = 1/32, and for the vent glass .047 = 3/64. They sell both at .60 foot.. I measured both glass and channels, divided by two and verified these will work.
