    Dash Paint

Can anyone tell me the correct paint brand and No. for the 65 Black on the dash. I am trying to refinish the speaker grill and have tried different shades and brands with no luck.

Try SEMS Trim Black, it is available at most auto paint stores. Some guys like Krylon 1613 but I'm partial to the SEMS product.

Krylon Semi Flat Black in the rattle-can will be a perfect match. I have used it on several occasions with excellent results.Good Luck.

The SEMS part # is 39143. The Krylon 1613 is a bit cheaper and probably easier to find if you're not close to a paint store.

                Mark,

I like the Krylon 1613 semi flat, you can get it at Walmart. However it is very thin stuff and don't expect it to fill imperfections in the area you are painting. Sand the area very smooth, and the paint will come out very smooth with multiple light coats.

I used it on my Glove Box project.

Thanks for the info Jerry. My main concern is matching the paint on the rest of the dash as I don't want to remove the whole assembly and repaint.

                    Re: Dash Paint

I mistakenly referred to a paint manufacturer as SEMS and it is actually SEM. I guess I got it confused with a bolt head marking and the name of a road where I live.

                        Bryan & Jerry

Thanks for the help. I ordered a can of each from my local NAPA today. Will try each this weekend to see which match's the best.
