    C1 - 54 jack hold down spring

Anyone know of a source to obtain the spring and end ring for an early '54 jack hold-down spring?

I would check with my two favorite vendors, Grossmuellers and Mary Jo Rohner.

            Chuck,

How true this is is yet to be confirmed and, therefore, this may "an old wife's tale". I heard lond ago that you could modify a screen door spring along with your original hold machanism and no one would discern the difference. Now, if someone would please straighten me out so I tell this lie no more, or try it yourself.

            Regards, Kent #6201

P.S. you might want to strip and repaint the spring since most come with lousy black paint that maybe lasts long enough to exit the store.

I also heard that. I'd like to find an original so that I can reproduce an authentic looking copy. I have 2 early '54's that need them. Believe it or not I saw an original sitting in a box in the trunk of a '60 in the for sale lot at Kissimmee. Kept looking for the owner but I could never find him. The spring looked original from what I could see but I didn't want to start poking through someone else's trunk without asking first.
