Radio's 53-55 & 56-57 Trivia

I've seen to many people buying wrong power packs for a Corvette radio at swap meets , and they believe the seller , this is what they should look like.The 56-57 glass tube had a shield cover. The 53-55 only used a Z04 tube and their is a 6V and 12V power pack unit. A 6V vibrator will not exchange with a 12V in the power pack. Hope I helped some one?????????

Roy....are any of these units interchangeable with passenger cars or trucks???

55 to 56 Car near the same as 56-57 Corvette but not the power pack. Which year??

Roy it's been over 20 yrs since I last looked at it but IIRC it came from my '55 2 1/2 ton carhauler. Is here any way to track the year from the radio itself?

Not unless you have a parts book I dont know.
