What is the Redline on a 66 427/390 supposed to be? Was the 67 427/390 Redline the same as 66? Thanks for the help.

Re: 66-67 Tach Redline.
Rick - I asked the same question a couple of years ago. There should be an entire thread in the archives on this topic. It was discussed at length. The bottom line is this. The NCRS JG specifies a tachmeter redline of 5500 for the 66 427/390. Note that there is considerable debate on whether the oil pressure gauge is 60 or 80 lb. Most people who responded to the thread reported an 80 lb oil gauge. As for your question re: a 67 redline, check the NCRS JG for that year.- Top

Re: 66-67 Tach Redline.
My old '67 JG (1993) is 6000 redline for the 390, and I believe that agrees with the tach that was in the '67 390 Air Coupe that I never should have sold!Bill Clupper #618- Top
