Hi guys.....I need help concerning my protecto plate...the pop that I have with my car has the vin # on it and a few other numbers however it does not have the original owners name on it. I am sure this is the original pop...very old with the original dealership printed on it on the opposite page...no doubt about that....just never saw a pop without the owners name on it...please pass me your thoughts on this...thank you very much, Marc /Calif

Re: POP QUESTION
I have the original Protecto plate with warranty booklet on one of my '71's. The tape used was not the GM logo tape to print owners information of metal plate. I believed that many small dealerships used whatever was available to them at the time.- Top

Re: POP QUESTION
There is a good chance that it was a replacement issued to a second owner within the original warranty period. Does it have all the rear axle, carb., engine info., transmission info., etc info on it or just a VIN.??- Top

Re: POP QUESTION
Mine has clear, non-GM logo dymo on it as well. This always concerned me until I recently saw a Chevelle SS on flea-bay that retained it's original P-O-P from the same selling dealer and it had blue Dymo tape. The dealer address stamp was identical to mine so I am somewhat reassured. If I had the space and funds I'd have bought that Chevelle to reunite it with its older cousin- Top
