My wife dislikes 'babyblue', my 1966 327/350 Nassau blue convertible, very good driver condition, with black interior and exhaust side pipes. She complains the car is too loud and the black interior too hot in the summer. Since I would like to keep her, my wife that is, what are my options to resolve my noise and heat problems?

Insulation under the carpets and an undercar exhaust might be steps in the right direction.Bill Clupper #618- Top

Re: C2 noise and heat
Take a look at the heater box and ensure there are no cracks, if there are this will allow a good deal of heat in. Also ensure there are no obstructions in the passageways to the side vents (leaves and junk).
The other suggestions posted should solve your problems.- Top

Re: C2 noise and heat
If your car originally had underneath exhaust, and wasn't modified too much for the side exhaust, I'd go back to the underneath...being so much more quiet can some how make the heat easier to put up with. You can also choose mufflers that will provide the degree of quiet you (or she) wants.- Top

Re: C2 noise and heat
I honestly don't intend to be glib - but my wife absolutely hates our 66 BB side pipe Coupe. Hot and loud is an understatement - and I love that car because thats the way it has and always will be. So - the solution is that my wife likes the way it looks in the garage and will not ride in it and thats that. Fortunately we have some quiet, cool "cool" early Ford V8s to share as well so that's something we mutually enjoy.- Top

Re: C2 noise and heat
My wife does not care for my 71 small block. Too noisy, (it isn't) too windy with the t-tops off, (its not) no modern safety equipment, (it does have great brakes and good seat/shoulder belts) rides way too rough. (spirited suspention) She has been wanting me to trade it in for a new one. I reserected this car, and I love this car. It is truly a work of art and I get great joy out of driving it. Lucky for me she knows this and will take short rides with me. Nice to be humored:)

Sounds to me like your a lucky man.
My wife doesn't like the smell of the exhaust fumes when we are stopped in traffic (67 side exhaust) and she says she notices gas fumes sometimes. She says to sell it and get a new Corvette if I have to have one. Thus my request for opinions on the new Corvettes recently. To date I can't bring myself to selling the old girl for a new one and I like her just the way she is so don't plan on going back to under car exhaust or putting a charcoal cannister on the tank vent or a plastic bag over the carb after I shut her down. I'd rather put those devices on the little woman.- Top
