    67 fan and clutch

i have a fan on my 67 small block with numbers 912239 and L6 stamped on the blades, wondering if this is the correct blade for the car, the clutch has a flat bar (strip) across the center on the back side, are these correct or do i need to look for originals?
    thanks for input

    Re: 67 fan and clutch

Bob - As far as the fan blade assembly is concerned, if you have a sb equipped with C60 Air Conditioning and the car was built in late November 1966 or in December 1966 or early calendar year 1967 and the fan blade assembly you describe has 5 blades and is 18" in diameter and also has SC stamped on each blade below the 912239 , it sounds like a winner. FYI, it's the optional fan blade assembly, p/n 3863137, called out in the 1967 Corvette AIM, UPC C60, SHEET C2, Item 6. If not, it's not the fan blade assembly I'd expect to find on the car. Let us know and we'll describe the fan blade assembly that would have been installed on a non-air conditioned sb.

The fan clutch also sounds like a winner also. You might check around the outside edge of the clutch flange that is bolted to the water pump to see if it has a production date along with the letters SC. The 67 sb also had to fan clutch used in production, see UPC 6, SHEET A6, Item 4. One had the flat, retangular bi-metallic thermostatic element (Schwitzer Corp) and the other had coil type thermostatic element (Eaton Corp). The fan clutch is the same for all sb Corvettes whether equipped with C60 or not.
