    Re: C/F questions & answers

    Duke,

We have never met but I can assure you I will never forget the lengths you went to to help me out with the problems/questions I have posted here in the past. As basic as my skill level was,you even went so far as to call me from California to explain things to me in greater detail.....until I could finally see the light. I hope you will continue to help those who post on this forum.

PS: You are in good company as respects Al Grenning. Both of you are a credit to the Corvette hobby.

Obviously, Duke must have posted a picture of Mohammed in a past CF thread and now the world has a vendetta against him!!

Re: Nice to see your name back in the threads

"We can't let this association become another C/F, so arrogent and opinionated that it drives the passion of what this group's about away. "

I am on many boards, and while I am often found in debates I don't get my panties in a twist (even when being disagreed with, which happens a whole bunch), and I have a lot to learn. (I certainly learn a lot from reading the posts here). And I am opinionated, but I expect others to have differing opinions too, even if it is on matters that I just KNOW I am right about - and, I must point out, that you are quite right, folks express their opinions freely on the C/F. If you have a tough time with folks who just might disagree with your views, then yes, absolutely, you should stay away from THAT place.

Funny thing is, that's why I like it (the C/F) - I really do not care to be surrounded by yes-men who never ever spoke up or disagree with an opinion I or anyone else might have. I would direct you to the fable of the King that had no clothes for the wisdom of that mentality. It does seem that some folks really hate being disagreed with and would like to simply dispense wisdom to the adoring masses; if you fall into this category you won't be happy with the "free thinkers" over there on the C/F; they might just have a different view on some aspect of performance.

By the way, the desire to be able to freely express one's opinions, even if some person "in charge" might disagree, is exactly what seems to have led to the latest departures from this very forum . . . . just one man's observations . . .

Re: Duke, does this mean you're back???

Yeah Ken, And just think how much it would cost you if you had to go to your local Chevy Dealer to ask the stuff tech and with what they make an hour you would have a fortune in just their stuff and in the end it would probably be the wrong "stuff".

I'm like you I may not be able to understand what Duke is talking about all the time but I'll bet it's right!! HE KNOWS ALL THE TOUGH STUFF!!

            Re: C/F questions & answers

            Duke,
I have been a member over on the C/F and have read most all of your posts there with anticipation not knowing what great wealth of information,I was going to learn from reading them. I, too have noticed there are some, and frankly too many who post over there just to add their smart@#$ remarks, not adding anything to the original post. As for myself, I do not post unless I feel like I can contribute something to help out a fellow member. I know that there are many of us who do not have neither the knowledge or experience that you have that genuinely miss you.

I'm just glad to be reading and learning from people that know and willing to help us. Yes, there is a lot of $hit being posted on CF. But no need to get on the high horse just yet. Is everyones' memory that short??? This forum also needs to take a good long hard look at itself.

                  Bud.

                    I've just been lurking here

but I can say that reading here and over on Corvette Forum, it looks like the pot on one side and the kettle on the other.

One group does express opinions freely, not always as some posters like, but they can. The other group tends to delete messages and kick people off.

So which group is better? I guess it depends on where you are in each of these groups.
