1962 Steering

I have about 90 degrees of play in the steering wheel of my 62 fuelie. Is that adjustable and how does one adjust it? .....or do I need to replace something?

Thanks AGAIN, I seem to have more questions than answers.

Bob,

90 degrees is ALOT! If you adjust the worm gear to take it up you won't be able to turn lock to lock without binding.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but it sounds like a steering box rebuild is in your future.

WOW! must be a thrill to drive that one. Look in your ST-12 for complete instructions on adjustment. I suspect you might as well start taking out the entire column for an overhaul. Go to Corvette Steering Service in Anderson, S. C. . He's THE BEST on steering problems.
