i think if you put it on ebay and explain how rare it is and you will never see one again and how you won't miss out on points, it should bring $1000! just kidding, bill

If you are the selling its a very rare piece and is almost priceless.
If you are the buyer, they are a dime a dozen, you don't really need it you have one, but you would take it off their hands as a spare for a nickle ninety eight, dollar two ten with tax.

Hey John, please don't shout with the caps. Sorry, but this is a technical discussion board, not a swap meet forum. Good luck with the sale.
          Best regards,

Brand new replacements look like they're pretty cheap in catalogs; maybe someone can chime in with what differences there may be between an original and reproduction.

Easy with the Caps, I'll try to explain it a different way. The seller, it's worth as much as he can get out of it! The buyer, it's worth what ever you are willing to pay. If someone tells you it's worth x amount and the seller wants y amount, someone gives in or there is no sale.

You are asking a very difficult question, one that most people do not want to commit to because if we tell you an amount, you pay it then find out it was too much, now you are mad.

The best thing to do is research, check past auctions on e-bay, go to swap meets, check the Driveline, and then, most important of all, you decide what its worth to you. Do you need it to complete a frame off? Do you want it because yours is not original? If yours is a driver the value is not as much to you. These things all come into the equation. We have all paid too much for a part at one time or another, that's just the nature of the beast.

                John
I have been buying parts since 1990 and I bought and sold a few original antennas but an antenna sold on E-Bay for over $300. in the last few weeks. Before I sell another antenna I need to learn how many bases of the antennas were made. I belive a 67 and 73 base is different and how many other styles that are considered correct for NCRS judging.
If someone has wrote an article on antennas or could we get some pictures it would help. I do have some antennas not for sale until I find out what I have and study the E-Bay market. I find the best way to sell an item is on E-bay if you don't know the market. If I see other items like mine sold I know what to ask at the swap meet and off line. Selling parts is all about buying underpriced parts where you can find them and selling them for a profit after storing them for years.
For me it is a hobby and as much fun as restoring or showing Corvettes. I can tell you the big boys with used parts in the business may ask 3 times the price that was on their swap table last week if you call on the phone and need the part for NCRS judging right now and was not at the meet to know their on the spot price. A friend payed $50. for a buzzer needed for a PV now and I bought lots of them for $1. to $5. at swap meets and salvage yards.

                  John,

It is impossible to pick a price for something like that. If you go to swapmeets you may find a nice one for $5.00 (I did last fall).

If you watch Ebay you will get a sense of an auction price on that piece that day.
The next week it may be half or double, it all depends on who is looking at the time.

All you can to is look at the part and decide if you are willing to pay the asking price.

                  Good luck,

                  Verle

I'm not sure that this correct for all C-3's but for my '69 the difference was the size of the ball at the top. The reproduction masts had a smaller ball. I simply knocked the ball of of my original and the repro and JB Weld'ed the original ball om the repro mast.

Thanks everyone for the detailed responce. When I retyped my password my cap locks were on I didnt think much or give a second thought to capitol letters. I would never think of shouting at a groupe of people that have been so helpful to me and my restoration.

The bases are different as someone was making them or changing the base for some C-2's.
