    Lets think it over!!

This talk about members insulting others , judges doing this or that , the older guys leaving that helped NCRS in the beginning , the knowledge that is being lost , people in high places pushing their weight around and on and on. So the question is when did this start? It started at the beginning of NCRS and ANY other "club" "no-profit", or "incorporated organization " weather it be cars or a dog show.

Newbee's don't get it, people don't get respect , things change to slow , people come and go!

I've been into cars for over 50 years and started other corvette groups and can tell you if your in to helping or organizing any thing you come out of it as the bad guy! Like any one els only when your dead are MOST people going to say good things about you.
In NCRS I have many friends that think I'm a good guy any others that hate me ,what can I do about it (NOTHING) it's life and I don't stress over it. I don't care to be reconized as anyone and those people that have the "need" to be one I avoid .We all pick our friends and others we try to get along with . NCRS like any organization you wish to be part of I've said over and over to people you play the game or get out!
I learned not to let insults bother me and those that do are missing self worth .I don't like saying this but NCRS is now becoming a stopping off point to pedigree a Corvette to get more money and then move on. NOT NCRS's fault or judges ( just what every one of you know) and it's not only NCRS but many other car clubs. The word HOBBY is gone but for the few and I mean few that love and keep their cars for a long period of time. Few people speek out because of being ridiculed by other and I understand that too!
Am not saying it's good or bad , just saying what is. I've posted pic's and info for the hobbest not the JM, I leave that for others to get yelled at.
If this results in me being deleted so be it, life goes on and I can live with it and hold no ill will!!

Ray, you've put into writing the same thing I've been thinking in reading the TDB the last few days. I've been through this with 3 Corvette Clubs, Church, Boy Scouts, Politics, General Motors, etc. I guess it's the old American competitive spirit to want to be the best or most intelligent that everyone looks up to and we individuals naturally gravitate to that venue where we can excel. The only discouraging part is when we observe people compelled to go even further and downgrade others to enhance their superiority. In the past I have found this NCRS organization to be genuinely concerned about history and it's the Craig Jackson's, Mecums, etc. that have exploited us. Sooner or later, the money bubble will burst just like real estate and maybe we'll all get back to the HOBBY!

I too am an "old" timer in the Vette world. Lately I find myself telling people that it just ain't fun anymore. Tonight that changes! My attitude about our 67 that has been owned for over 37 years is now one of not worrying about the highest value and being afraid to drive it. As to the folks who create problems on various message boards, lighten up! And, I know some will, some won't! Al W. (Feels good to Rant sometimes!).

I have owned my '55 for 25+ years, just getting down to restoring it to driver condition. It will never be judged as long as I own it, too many missing original parts...And a practical outlook on it's potential worth. But, that does not stop me from gathering as much info as I can and sharing what I know about my car. Never thought about selling it either, has lots of nice offers. Just can't wait until I get to turn the ignition key and take it for a spin after 20 or so years! This gets too serious for some people, just enjoy the ride.
