C2 64 FI Fuel Pressure Line

Doing a little cleaning of my 64 FI unit. Have the fuel pressure line (1 of 2) disconnected. The long one that runs from nozzle cluster to spill valve of fuel meter.

Tried to blow through it but there is a restriction, used Carb cleaner and it does come out, however still hard to impossible to blow through. Is this normal, is there a restriction inside the tube (doubt that). Should I soak overnight??
Also tried my other tube (different unit) and found the same thing - so better to ask before I hurt it.

    Thanks
    Alan

    Wish I could edit!

Just notice if I suck on line first it will draw air and also allow one to blow the other way. So it really does seem like a valve in in the tube.

Simply put, there's a spring loaded needle valve in the spider hub you're trying to overcome by blowing on it. Fuel pressure from the high pressure pump pushes it open.

I've told you more than I know.

Re: C2 FI Fuel Pressure Line Isolated

Have the pressure line (longer one) out of car and on bench all by itself. If any check valve in the circuit (spider assy section) it would not affect the stand alone line. Note sure why a check valve would be in the line, but just a novice at this stuff.

Note; One can blow air or carb cleaner through the spider assy with no restrictions present, at least on the 64 unit. (Not so sure of 63 unit)

        Thanks

There is NO check valve in the line itself. Sounds like you have an obstruction. '63-'65 lines and spider all the same.
