    C2 owner pin

I've cleaned up the pin I found under the seat of my '67 and can see that it reads M1/10 over 10KOP and was wondering if this pin is correct for this year corvette. The post on the back of the pin is not centered in its middle but is biased slightly towards the top edge. Can any of the members confirm that it is or is not correct for my '67? Also, what is the difference between this pin and one which is stamped M1/5 over 10KOP on the back at the bottom edge? What exactly does the M1/5 or M1/10 refer to and does it apply to a specific year corvette? Thanks once again to all who reply.

    Adding to Joe's post,

Could you guys post the info on the back of your original pins and year you got it, and color of the field.

Re: C3 (1968) Owners Pin Back Info

I previously posted a pic of the front of the pin I got with my 1968 Corvette. Joe #45420 was curious about the back. My pin has a center post with the following stamped detail:
      GBM&CO
      10K
      CINTI,O
I am also curious if other pins have different details!

Re: C3 (1968) Owners Pin Back Info

Below is a post of mine from the 2005 archives:

"The pins widely accepted as those included in the Owner's Kits had "10KDP" stamped on the back. I've seen others stamped "GBM&CO 10K". I was told by someone very knowledgeable about these Kits that the pins stamped "GBM&CO" were those ordered directly from the Gordon B. Miller Company, the official supplier of Corvette gifts and accessories."

I've owned both types (M1/5 10KDP and GBM&CO) and the clasp was the same reading BALLOU REG'D on its face. From what I've learned, although the owner kits were available from 1957 to 1973, the pins were only included from 1957 until 1966 and possibly 1967 as some original owners have stated. I hope this information helps. Jim Weeks - Member #2978

Re: C3 (1968) Owners Pin Back Info

My wifes father got one with his 1961 and she recalls that it had a tie tack type push pin. Unfortunately it was ripped off with most of her jewelry about 20 years ago.

Photo below of the owner pin I got with the '65 I bought new - it has the "M1/5" and "10KDP" on the back, and the "Ballou Reg." on the push-on retainer. The link also shows it with the original owner card.
