Re: Need Radiator Restored
Most local radiator shops will do a decent job of repairing original brass radiators. Things to watch out when a local shop does the job and your objective is for a factory concours job include:]
(1) Will he attach an 'ID' plate? Most shops want some way to identify their work for warranty purposes and will use a wire-on tag if you insist.
(2) What color will they repaint it? Most use a FULL gloss black that's obviously brighter than factory original.
(3) What do you want done about bent cooling fins? Most shops leave them 'as is' because it's a VERY tedious time consuming job to hand straighten the fins even with a fin straightening tool...- Top

Re: Need Radiator Restored
and, most cores that a radiator shop would sell you are not 100% correct. DeWitts does sell the correct middle piece, but you have to use your original end tanks.
