I am having my 63 SWC painted for the 2nd time by a different painter. (first time was a disaster...)
I purchased a pint of PPG DDL 32312 (not sure of the number of hand, but its close) , 941 sebring silver laquer and did a spray-out-panel. It matches the orig factory paint. (But I want to use a 2-stage paint system)
I also purchased a pint of DBC 32312, equivalent for laquer, base-coat-clear-coat from Auto Color Library, but have not received it yet. I understand, this paint supplier uses PPG product. When we do a spray-out, we'll know how close the PPG BCCC matches the laquer.
Her are my questions:
1. Does DuPont paint have a match for PPG laquer ?
2. What is the DuPont paint spec number for 63 sebring silver ?
2. Is there a difference between PPG and Dupont paint, in the way it sprays, covers etc ?
My painter wants to use DuPont, he claims it is a better paint and lays on better and he likes to use it...
(If we find a match, I have no problem with it)
