Short throw Shift linkage on a 72

    Dave,

Moving to short throw will result in a slight increase of shifting effort. I have never had a complaint about that. The shifter will also have a more positive feel, less sloppy. If you do change, mount the shifter and adjust the linkage before you reinstall the tranny. It is much easier to set the neutral gate out of the car! As Arnold Palmer once said, " you can feel it when you drive!".

    Have fun, WB

      Dave,

Changed mine to the short throw last week ('69 427/400). Like Bill says, feels great!

Ditto when I pulled me tranny lasy year for a rebuild. Took some getting used too, as I kept wanting to jam the thing up in first! STW, Mike
