update on L72 belt for joe

i took a look at it again and it seems this belt is still short i have pulley #3906656 on the pump and a cast crank pulley and have belt #3837810 short version, is there a long version of this belt? bill

new info: the crank pulley is #38631088F and the belt is a GM restoration belt i measured about 34 inches out side diameter on the belt. if i put them both flat on a table the belt still does not go around both.

You have a replacement waterpump pulley. The GM #3906656 is the 1967 big block pulley that was also SERVICE for 1966. However, it's the same OD as the 1966 pulley and the 1967 applications that originally used the 3906656 pulley and the same crank pulley as yours also used the GM #3837810 fan belt.

The GM spec for the 3837810 belt is 34-3/8". I suppose it's possible that the reproduction belt was not manufactured correctly/

i have stretched it warmed it up etc, so i guess i will order a new belt. it does not seem off by much, thanks,bill

I had to order 4 different belts from Quanta before I got the "right" one to fit.
