Yet Another Sidepipe question

I have a set of GM sidepipes on my 65 that are in good condition overall except for the pipe running from the manifold to the side exhaust chamber which is rusty (everything else is fine).

Has anyone ever had new pipes bent and rewelded on to keep the GM factory chambered pipe and chrome tip?

Yes I had done this, had a local guy bend the pipe to matct the original front section manifold to muffler. I cut off the old and welded on the new pieces.

Could not tell from original mine was all 2 1/2". A 2" to 2 1/2" will be a bit more welding but should not be much difficulty as long as everything is lined up prior to tack welding in place.

i understand sweet thunder sells just the head pipes in correct carbon steel. i just sold a set of 2 1/2 SB pipes and took note of the indents and draw marks as well as the fact they are one piece. i do not think sweet thunders are like this, bill

you can call me bill, william is too formal, need to fix that, that was what i was going to do with my SB pipes until i found the BB set
