1963 engine pad stampings

Hello; I can use a little more help with some Original engine pad stampings from cars / engines made in the last 2 weeks of April 1963. Before I have my engine pad stamped I would like to confirm the shape/ style of each character used. Any clear photos of your ORIGINAL pads would be appreciated, especially from fuel injected cars made in this time period. Thanks, Andy

If you go to the C-2 registry they have several photos of engine pads. However Harry's car is probably closer in date to what you are looking for.

I've always wondered what Al Grenning's responce would be if you asked him for copies of stamping pictures from his collection for any given VIN range.

Anyone know?

If a person was upfront and provided a specific VIN they were trying to duplicate, it seems to me he could note that information without compromising his data. If anyone should inquire from him in the future regarding said VIN, he could tell them it was a restamp and collect his fee anyway.

He will not give out that info

When he was working on his database about 8 or 10 years ago, I asked that same question and was told he would not give out that info, so I cannot argue his integrity. He seems 100% interested in helping to verify original cars and not helping the restampers.

I do at times question the wisdom of putting yourself out there to "verify" or "certify" the originality of anything nowadays. Everyone has gone lawsuit CRAZY, and if they ever discover the verification was incorrect, it could lead to a big lawsuit and a lot of $$$ and headache. I guess that's why he charges a couple thousand $ - I hope he has a good insurance policy too.
