Doc Rebuild shows a heat shield bushing for '55 - '57 generators on page 171 of his recent catalog. Any '55 -'57 owners familar with this part? Getting around to mounting the generator, want to make sure I have all the needed parts. Can't seem to see this part with other vendors... Thx.

Although it doesn't show in the catalog illustration, that heat shield was used on all 57's; it was P/N 3736569, and is shown on page 146 of Noland's book (the one with two bolt holes), and is also shown in the '57 assembly manual in section 6, Sheet 9. Paragon has it as their #2714, $15.00.- Top

Re: Generator heat bushings /shield
Roy, on your '55 are there any rubber bushings in the generator mounting holes or is it just bolted on, no bushings? Any form of insulating the generator from the manifold bracket?
Thanks, Mike- Top

Re: Generator heat bushings "Mike"
No! the 55 Corvette dint have rubber bushing or the early 56 , the car also. So it don't have any insulation at the generator or heat shield , I've told you before the JM and vary few people know anything about a 55 or early 56, were on our own , it's up to the few of use to correct these Corvettes from people that KNOW! It's funny now that 55 are getting 150k to 200K and up in Auctions and most buyers don't know much about them but there rarer then 53's.
When they honored the 50th years of the 53's what over 50 showed up and when they did the 55 15 showed up.So which is rarer!!!- Top
