    Muncie tail stock mount bolts

I finally after a couple of months of inactivity have the power plant and tranny resting in the engine bay of my chassis. Man talk about getting the fire back in the belly!!

What I'm missing are the two bolts that attach the tail stock mount to the crossmember plate.

    I'm guessing maybe a 7/16" grade five.

    Any input?

    Chuck

You are correct. 7/16 is what is needed and down the road should you want to replace the bolts with ones that has the correct head stamping, they are available from severl Corvette mail order parts houses and easly changes.

Any idea on a length? I'll assume 1" would be safe without bottoming out.

I'd like to scoop them up on the way home today rather than wait until tomorrow.

You only need two flat washers. Wow I almost had you buy two flat washers you don't need.

            Re: Hmm.

The kit must include the two additional bolts to secure the rubber mount to the tranny as well.

Grade 8 huh? I'd have figured that the mount would shear off long before a grade five thought of giving it up.

But hey, what's a grade or two extra between friends right?

Thanks for the input Bill I appreciate it.
