I was browsing in an antique store this past weekend(my wife made me ;-)) and I came across a white plastic laminated card with 'Corvette Owner Card' in the upper right, what appears to be the straight axle logo on the left. Below is printed 'Name' with 'L. Owen Fulghum' above that, and then 'Serial No' with '194670S' printed above that(interesting..no last 6 digits). I was wondering how long these cards were issued and if the last 6 digits were usually applied..seems strange to being missing the complete VIN. This appears to be for a 1970 convertible. Anyway, the card was cheap enough so I bought it. STW, Mike

Re: 1970 Corvette Owners Card
They were a paper card filled in by the General with a typerwriter until around 1962. The plastic card started after that and continued until around 1973. As far as I know they came with the Owners Kit when it was mailed to the original owner- Top

Re: 1970 Corvette Owners Card
Mike-----
The plastic owner's cards were obtained by mailing in a card which was attached to a perforated insert inside of the owner's manual. When you did this you received the plastic card and your subscription to Corvette News. I still have the card that I received for my original owner 69. And, I still have every issue of Corvette News that I received from the start of my subscription in late 1969 until the magazine was discontinued.
I don't know what the year model range was during which the cards were offerred, but I do know that they were available at least during 1969 and 1970.In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top
