I expect the number that you are talking about is the CASTING number for the rear plate of the pump. If so, this is just that---a casting number for that component and not the part number for the complete pump. If it's any kind of a pre-84 pump, they usually do not have a part number for the complete assembly to be found anywhere on the pump.
Anyway, given the number. I strongly suspect that the pump you have is one for a much later C3 application. I would say probably a 1979-82 pump. Check the bolts and other threaded mountings of the pump for METRIC size. If so, you know it's a 1979+ application. Also, if you could post a picture, I might be able to "narrow it down".
There should also be a date and manufacturing code found on the aluminum body of the pump. Look for a "semi-circular" machined area on one of the longitudinal "ribs" of the pump and a very small, lightly stamped-in coding thereupon. That may help in identifying it, too.
