Dec 70 built 71, sn 3932 has the dull cad, scalloped edge, with the red white warning lable.

Hello, what about California 70 Corvette (NA9). Do you think it used the red label 70 style cap? Just curious.

If the other 1970 model Corvettes (i.e. non EEC) didn't use it, I don't think that the EEC cars would have, either. There's no functional difference between the cap with the label and without the label. Plus, there's no reason that I can think of that cars with EEC would need a warning any more than a car without. Beyond that, I don't think that the part number for the cap with the label even existed very much prior to 1971.

My original owner 1970 350/300 sealed gas cap has a scalloped perimeter. It was removed in 1970 after buying the the car and replaced by GM's sealed locking gas cap and stored in the locking gas caps box. Couple years ago reinstalled the original gas cap because the locking gas cap was not maintaining that familiar "swoosh" of air when removing the gas cap. The original gas cap is just slightly oxidized "silver" finish.
