    production number help

Can someone help me figure out how many white coupes were made with dark orange interior in 1968. Ive looked all over the internet and cant seem to find it. Do they have stats on trim colors? Thanks

I don't think you'll ever find the exact answer to that. I'm sure the number can be estimated, but I doubt it is documented exactly.

      Jeff and Tom-----

That's how it is. There are no records known to exist which document the number built of any exterior/interior combination. Of course, the number manufactured of any exterior color are known for most model years. However, the number of cars made with any particular interior is not available.

It's a shame that all this data, and so much more, regarding Corvettes and other cars has been lost. But, in the old days, most data storage was via hard copy. Hard copy takes up a LOT of space, space costs money, and GM had no business reason to maintain this data, anyway.

Now, 40+ years later, we have digital storage media that, at the "ultra" end of the spectrum, is capable of storing every movie EVER MADE on a storage device the size of a cough drop. Just think what we might have today if the electronic data storage media that we have today had been invented 40 years sooner?

I don't remember where I found this, but it's a late 50's IBM mainframe hard disk - it only stored 5MB of data, and weighed 2900 pounds.
