There are a few other stamps on there that you haven't given to us. What they mean depends on their location on the plate, so you will need the magic decoder. The code is in the opening pages of the AIM for each year.

72K377 = the M40 transmission -- 72= model year, K=model of transmission, 377= Jan 11, 1972. I would have to write two paragraphs to tell you how I came up with that date. Just trust me.

V0119CKX = the assembly stamp and code for your engine. Built at Flint, January 19, 1972. Standard 200hp with automatic transmission.

AWW019E = differential code which should be stamped on it. 3.08:1 ratio assembled by Warren Gear on January 19, 1972. Positraction unit was assembled by Eaton
