    C3 69 choke

When I bought my 69 427 390 someone had wired the choke open and there was no choke linkage. I ordered new parts from Paragon. The place on the coil spring wqhere you attach the linkage is at the 2:00 position. When it heats up it moves down troward the 4:00 position. This would close the choke not open it. Any ideas? Thanks

The choke thermostats used for Rochester and Holley carburetors are different. Those used for Rochester carbs open the choke valve by moving in the COUNTERCLOCKWISE direction and pulling the choke rod DOWN. Those used for Holley carbs open the choke valve by moving in the CLOCKWISE direction and pushing the choke rod UP.

Your choke thermostat sounds like it's working the right way for a Rochester carb. Does the car have a Rochester carb or might it have a replacement Holley carb?
