My 61 grille has 46 years of oxidization. What is the best way to restore the grille. Is there someone who does a good job of anodizing these back to original condition? Should I just clean it up with something?
Thanks,
Ron
Anodizing is not something that can be done at home with Harbor Fright equipment. Ensure that the plater you select can also bright dip the grill after anodizing. If not bright dipped, the anodizing will merely produce a flat dull finish with no shine whatsoever. Many plater can anodize, but today few of them can bright dip afterwards. EPA.
I'm new again, after 30 years, to corvettes and know nothing about NCRS. I am very familiar with LBCs, in particular Austin Healeys, which use cockpit surrounds that are anodized. There is a company doing this that has been used buy some on the Healey forum. No financial interest. http://www.hollysanodizing.com/gallery.lasso I can say that the restorer who supplied the site does top shelf work on Healeys.
