    Goodyear Tires

I have a 1981 and need to replace the tires to current production equivalents. I believe this would be Goodyear Eagle GT II's. The sizes of the original tires are 255/60-R15. I am having trouble locating a set of four.

    Thanks

Goodyear still makes the Eagle GT II in that size. In fact, it may be the only tire model that they still make that's available in that size. I would think that any Goodyear tire dealer would be able to order it for you. It may very well not be a size that dealers would ordinarily stock; it just wouldn't be that popular these days. Dealers usually only stock tire model and sizes that sell briskly.

      Mark,

Joe is right, as expected, the Eagle GT's are available or a least they were about 18 months ago. I replaced the tires on my 78 with them then. I when to discount tire and they had to order them. It took awhile because as I was told Goodyear on produces them periodically. If the latest run is sold out you will have to order them and wait till Goodyear makes another run of them. Any dealer that sells Goodyear tires should be able to order them. That is unless they want to try and sell you something else. Good Luck!

Like Bob, I picked up a set of the GT IIs a few years ago for my 78 but got the 225/70R15s and had to order. Can't imagine those no longer being made but keep us posted.

Mark I read your post on Sunday, but I couldn't find out any information until today because Monday was a hoilday. I work for a Goodyear dealer and had them check to see if Goodyear Eagle GT IIs were available. There is no stock anywhere in the country in a Goodyear Wharehouse also there seems to be no future production scheduled at this point. Your only hope is to call around and check individual dealers stock. We have 1. Good hunting. Joe
