    4 Weeks to Sebring

March 17: The sun will be just going down, and the race will be about half way over. Saturday night at Sebring with the flames shooting out of the C6 exhaust and the sounds of that thundering V8 slowing for turn 1 are a thrill to experience. The sights, the sounds and the smell of octane. Woohoo. Wish you were there.

I know one old NCRS member (and ex-Sebring car owner) who may will be there. Any one else able to get out of the easy chair or walker to attend?

Will the AMLS play favoritism this year and let all the cars competing in the same class run under the same rules or will ALMS add restrictions to the Vettes to let the other cars in the same class catch up?
Seems unfair to ask Corvette to build race cars and then force them to drag an anchor behind them because their competitors are not up to the challenge!!

Pierre, another question is who will the Corvettes be racing against now the Ford is pulling the plug on Aston Martin. Bill

          Bill,
They can race against anyone who feels they can measure up running under the same rules and restrictions.
This class is for professional racing teams only, not your backyard racer. Remember the old adage: If you can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen".

Pierre, you're right and that's the problem. We're not only talking "professional" we're talking factory sponsorship. Who's out there building GT cars they want to promote with a racing program? I bet those supercar builders like Ferrari, Lamborghini, and Maserati saw what happened to Aston Martin and arem't willing to take the chance of being dominated by a Chevrolet. Ford has Jaguar but if they couldn't compete with Aston Martin it's doubtful they would risk losing again.

I think we are going to see the Corvettes racing against themselves, a little like kissing your sister, but as the Doc says, they sure sound great. Bill

they should let the C6Rs run unrestricted

and compete for the over all win since they will only be running against themselves.
