The only new gas tank I find availabe to 53-55 Vette owners is a stainless steel tank costing $595, which does not look like the original.
Why don't 53-55 owners use the $219 '57-62 tank. For 15 years I thought it was because they would not fit the '54 gas tank compartment but tried my old '61 tank in my 54 and it fits fine. I know the sender unit on the 54 is (I believe) located in the center, not off center, but that should not be worth $300.
Am I missing something?
