The one with the "4 indentions" and the letter "D" is the most correct for your application. The other one with "9 indentions" and the "M" is a much later SERVICE piece. They're both functionally identical, though. In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top

Keep in mind that there was quite an evolution of "nuances of configuration" for the CV-736C valve over time. The "indentions" and alpha character embossment discussed previously are but TWO of the "evolutionary nuances". Most original PRODUCTION valves and those available early in SERVICE had the stamping "AC Spark Plug" + "CV-736C" on the side of the valve. Later SERVICE valves may have just "AC" + "CV-736C". There may be some other nuances that I've forgotten, too.In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top
