I have a couple of questions regarding chassis restoration. My car is equipped with a T-10 and is a late production '57. The transmission main case seems to have been painted a semi-gloss black but the judging guide and the Noland Adams book are not clear or don't make any mention of the finish. Does anyone out there have experience on what would be correct? The car seems to be equipped with a portion of the HD suspension. It has 5 leaf rear springs with 6 riveted bands on the R/S but the L/S spring looks like it had a rebuild along the way somewhere and is clamped with strap steel bands. Is there a source for the riveted bands to restore the L/S spring? The front stabilizer diameter is more than 5/8" (an open end wrench won't slip over the bar) but somewhat less than the 13/16ths noted in the Judging guide. There is no indication of brake cooling screens or ducting and no quick steering adapter. It is possible it was equipped with portions of the RPO684? It is a 4.11 posi equipped car also. Any information on field experience would appreciated.
