The bids are rolling in folks. As you know we are auctioning off five sets of five laps with Geoff Bodine driving a Petty Driving Experience car. ALL the proceeds from this will go to Kyle Petty's Victory Junction Gang childrens camp. http://www.victoryjunction.org Petty has genrously donated the use of the car for these laps and Geoff Bodine has donated his time.

These laps will be done in conjunction with the Lowe's Motor Speedway Regional in April

Nancy and I are thinking of bidding because we will be doing the Petty Experience anyways. We will have to see where the bids are when they are posted.

Gary, Terry. Bids are posted on the Carolinas web site www.ncrscarolinaschapter.org As it stands right now the track laps will be Thursday afternoon, exact time to be determined by this weekend.

Minor correction -- Bodine Laps are probably going to be run intermingled with our laps on Friday night as the Petty Driving Experience has agreed to donate the car and their crew has agreed to donate their time on Friday at 5 - 6 pm to help us out.

Went to the website and it says laps will be driven at speed in a Petty Car etc. Is this going to be one of the cars you pay to drive or one of the cars you pay to ride in? I've done both at Lowe's and there is a big difference in how fast you go in the two different cars. The ride along is a much faster car than the one you can drive.

Paul Geoff drove for Hendricks and several other NASCAR teams a few years ago. He retired and lives somewhere near Charlotte. Has won 18 Nextel/Winston Cup races including the Daytona 500.

Terry, the ride will be quite different than the Petty Driving Experience ride.

I'm VERY sure of that. I also believe they will have to get the Corvette drivers off the track while he is out there. It will be no place for amateurs when he is on the track.

lowes speedway had a program that allowed

you to drive your own corvette on the track for $35 for 10 laps. we did this several years ago when our club,"Corvette Club of Western Pa" was in NC for a corvette show at DEI. even with a pace car in the lead we still managed over 110 MPH on the track. mrs clem kept pointing out to me the wall was on her side of the corvette.

There are three Bodine brothers who drove in NASCAR. Todd still drives in the truck series and Brett drives the Nextel pace car every Sunday.
