That's right. I now do recall that instruction sheet that was included. Sometimes I read some statement on the internet and I say to myself
- that's not true, I vaguely remember doing that job.

true that, which I discovered after purchasing the lower ign shields for my 65 SB and could not for the life of me get them on, and then I read the story about the later "locking" motor mounts interfering, and printed a picture of what they looked like, and crawled back under the car (my home away form home) for a look - turns out some P.O. had put them on the car at some point.

Yes, just use the 70+ style lower "V" shields and no cutting is required.
