Dave, Your note sent me racing first to the new web directory of Restorer articles and then to my NCRS Encyclopedia for 63-67 models. The web directory says that there is a 5 page 1992 article on installing soft tops. Unfortunately the encyclopedia I purchased in 1996 or 97 (pre CD vintage) does not include that article for some reason. I've been through it many times over the years and when I saw the listing in the online directory I thought for sure it must be there but I missed it. Sadly my latest search ended as the earlier ones. Perhaps Eric Mortimer can fill us in. Better yet, he might be able to provide a copy of the article missing from the $100 encyclopedia!
My desire is for clues on better adjusting the soft top on my 66. I've tried over and over but can't seem to remedy the gale that blows over the top of the windshield frame. The only cure thus far is a spare piece of old weather strip I set in just before clamping the top down. I'd love to find a good step by step procedure that would help. My real fear is that the problem has to do with how the top is fitted to the frame. That is a leftover from the previous owner who had it done some years back. It's in good shape and looks to fit tight but I'm not sure. Any thoughts out there?
Cheers Mike
