Just curious as to point deductions taken when judging a car whose interior color has been changed....
Is it a total loss of all interior points that are affected (ie door panels, seat covers, etc)? I suppose that since all originality points are lost, then all condition points are lost too?
For 1968-up, if the color is correct for that year, but material incorrect, one loses one-half originality points. (I presume this is pretty much standard for all years.) If material is correct, but color is not, deduct one-half. One only loses all originality (and thus condition) points if both color and material were not available that year. These deductions apply to all parts that are interior color, i. e. seats, carpet, dash, sunvisors, pillar posts, quarter trim etc. The Judging Guide spells out this and many more standard percentage deductions. If you don't have one, order one for your year Vette and a Judging Reference manual from Eric. If the color is correct for that year
Thanks, Reba. I was looking for a standard deduction in the Tech manual, but didnt see one. Also, misplaced my JG..... I know its around here somewhere...
