Re: Judging % Restored vs. Original more questions *TL*

    John,

On a more serious note than my last post: Ignoring how one determines what an "original" car is, the percentages will vary widely between the classes. I judge neither, but would expect more "original" cars in a 1978-82 class than a 1953-55 class.

NCRS does not make this kind of determination and no records are kept of these kinds of general values, so any answer you get is going to be a highly subjective one.

John is your question for a meet in general or a specific class?

Terry, I think Bowtie classes for 1973-up at the last several conventions verify what you say. I understand we have two-day Bowtie judging (4 cars per day) in all classes from 1973-82. Poor Marvin and Brian. Believe it or not, there are 10 1968-72 registered for Bow-tie also. By the late seventies, people were buying these cars and putting them away undriven. They surely missed all the fun, didn't they?

Yes I have heard about the workload for Bow Tie scheduled for Bowling Green. Some of the folks missed the fun of driving them, but then there are folks like Arnold who bought a brand new '78 Pace Car and drove it to Founders Award as well as McLellan and Bow Tie. At least someone gets the enjoyment, even if not the original owner.

I know it was a long way Reba, but you missed some really nice cars at Monticello. We had 7 1970-1972s there. Busy day.
