Does anyone have any information, or know of a web site, book, etc., where I can find road test results for the 1982 Corvette. I would like to find the actual top speed, quarter mile times, and cornering performance of the car in stock form as tested, not as GM rated the car. If anyone knows where I can find this information, your help would be greatly appreciated. Also, does anyone have any track times, etc. of a 1982 Corvette with 3.73 gears they would like to share? These are the gears that I am considering changing to when I pick up my 82 Vette next month. Also, I can't find a single piece of information as to what rear end the 82's have. I know they are cast aluminum, but what rear is it (Dana, GM, etc.)? Thanks.

Dustin-----
Your best bet for the information which you seek is to look for late 1981 or 1982 editions of the various Corvette Magazines. Vette and Corvette Fever would probably be the best. I'm sure that there will be road tests in these magazines during this period which will be applicable to the then-new 1982 Corvette.
As far as the rear end goes, the 1982 Corvette uses a Dana 44 rear gear assembly. In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top

Re: 1982 Corvette performance
I can tell youfrom personal experience that an '84, with essentially the same engine package, would run a low 15 second quarter mile in stock trim, and 130mph was easy. I don't know directly how it relates, but extra weight should make the '82 a little slower- Top

Re: 1982 Corvette performance
Dustin,
My most recent MidAmerica catalog has for sale some reprints of "Car And Driver" articles that might work for you. Since I'm at work now and don't have access to the catalog, so I can't tell you what years the articles covered. Might be a good idea to start there though.
